Turkish, German holdings to produce fruit juices
Turkey's Yıldız Holding and Germany’s Eckes-Granini Group will establish a company to serve fruit the juice industry, a statement from the Turkish holding said Friday.
The company will be a joint venture and will not only offer premium fruit juices but also create a strong retail distribution network.
Based in Nieder-Olm near Mainz in Ğermany, Eckes-Granini is a leading producer of branded fruit beverages in Europe and a financially sound, independent family-owned enterprise with an annual turnover of 827 million euros.
Today, Eckes-Granini is represented by 14 national organizations in Europe and employs roughly 1,461 people. In 2009, the company's sales volume was 1,007 million liters and its annual turnover was 827 million euros.
The German company has a 12 percent share in markets in Austria, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Lithuania, Norway, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and exports to over 70 countries world-wide.
Yıldız Holding entered the European Union market by opening a factory in Romania in 2005. At the end of 2007, the holding took a giant step for both itself and Turkish participation in globalization by acquiring Godiva, the world's leading premium chocolate and chocolate products brand.
Yıldız Holding formed a 50/50 joint venture with Gumlink to operate in the field of non-chocolate confectionery and chewing gum with the Continental Confectionary Company in 2009.
With 29,500 employees and 53 factories in Turkey, Yıldız Holding has annual revenue of 10.9 billion dollars.
